CUSD PreschoolsAbout Our Program In CUSD Preschools, children learn through play and discovery. We are partners with the families in nurturing each child’s potential. And these young learners are full of potential! Our program fosters learning through exploration, creativity, and self-expression. Preschoolers gain confidence as they develop the mental, physical and social skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond. Open to all families in the county, our preschool and kindergarten teachers collaborate to create a program that gives young learners an educational advantage and a great foundation for a lifetime of learning. Quality by Design We are proud to be part of the Quality Matters Initiative, funded by First 5 Santa Clara. To be selected as a Quality Preschool Initiative participant, programs must complete a comprehensive review process and meet certain criteria for high-quality preschools. The Quality Matters Initiative provides one-of-a-kind support to programs, giving them tools for maintaining quality such as: external reviews to evaluate program safety and environmental quality; customized coaching support; assessment of children for special needs referral to services as needed; and professional development. Clear Expectations Our expectations and limits for the children are simple and consistent: Be Safe, Be Friendly, Be Respectful. These expectations are most effective when used both inside and outside of the classroom. They are implemented district-wide and will follow your child throughout their elementary education. Program Offerings CUSD Preschools offer both year-round and school-year programs. Children must be between 2 and 5 years old. Register for free/low-cost State-funded programs or affordable tuition-based programs. Children do not need to reside in our district to enroll. Schedules vary by location.Child Care Program
