Forest Hill Gr. 4-5 Drama: Madagascar KIDS

Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends — Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo — have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape — with the help of some prodigious penguins — to explore the world.

Forest Hill students grades 4th-5th priority registration and 3rd grade waitlisted, 3rd grade students please fill out the WAITLIST. (Waitlist will open on 8/3)  Students may only participate in drama program offered at the school in which they are currently enrolled.

Parent Meeting is on TBD from 6:30-7:30pm located at Forest Hill Elementary School in the Multi Use Room.  PLEASE NOTE:  A minimum of 16 parent volunteer hours is expected per family. We require at least 6–8 committed parent volunteers to successfully run the show. If we do not meet this minimum, the production may be canceled. 

Drama rehearsals are weekly on Mondays at 2:40pm-6:00pm and Wednesdays at 1:40-6:00pm starting Monday, March 15 -Wednesday, May 5 including selected Fridays TBD from 2:40pm-6:00pm. Your students ability to attend scheduled rehearsals will be one of the factors in determining the role your child receives. If there are too many schedule conflicts, then your child will be asked to reconsider participating in the play. No class on 3/8 and 4/12-4/16 Spring Break.

Starbright Mandatory Safety Meeting on Monday, May 17 at 6:15-6:30pm.

Move in Day is Monday, May 17 TIME is TBD and Strike Day is Saturday, May 22 at 6:40p.m.

Tech week is Monday, May 17 - Wednesday, May 19 from 6:15pm-8:30pm located at Starbright Theater in Campbell, Ca.

Drama performances are schedule on Thursday May 20 at 7:00 pm, Friday May 21 at 7:00 pm, Saturday May 22 at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm located at Starbright Theater in Campbell, Ca.  (The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.)  *offsite venues for drama shows are not guaranteed*

There are no concessions or other items sold at the performances. No outside vendors or representatives will be authorized to distribute or sell products on-site. We kindly ask that all participants and vendors respect this arrangement.

COST: $425.00 All registration fees are non-refundable once auditions have concluded and the cast list has been posted, prior to the start of rehearsals — no exceptions. 75% Scholarships are available to Homeless or Foster Youth and a letter approval of Free/Reduced lunch status from the Child Nutrition Dept.  Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 1) Be sure to create an ARUX account online and 2) email us at cusdexpandedlearning@campbellusd.org to request the discount. Discounted price is: $106.25. You can also set up a payment plan for the discounted price.

Space is limited to 30 students only (per Drama Directors capacity limitation) and online registration is based on first come, first served. 

Registration Deadline: The last day to register online is Wednesday, February 24, or until the program reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
