CSI & Monroe Gr. 6-8 Drama: Shrek The Musical JR.

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek.  One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

With abundant opportunities for imaginative sets and costumes, and a host of over-the-top roles for an expandable cast, there's a part for everyone in this dazzling adventure story.

Instructor Biography- Scott Bardone is a Drama Director with the Campbell Union School District's Expanded Learning Department. Although this is his first year serving as a Drama Director, Scott brings valuable experience working with elementary students within CUSD. His familiarity with the district, commitment to student engagement, and passion for supporting young learners make him a great addition to the Expanded Learning drama program.  

CSI and Monroe Middle School Students Grades 6-8.  Students may only participate in drama program offered at the school in which they are currently enrolled.

Parent Meeting is TBD.  PLEASE NOTE:  A minimum of 10 parent volunteer hours is expected per family. We require at least 8-10 committed parent volunteers to successfully run the show. If we do not meet this minimum, the production may be canceled. 

Drama rehearsals are weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays at 2:30pm-4:30pm and Wednesdays at 1:30-3:30pm starting Monday, January 4 - Wednesday, March 17, 2027 located in the CSI Bistro. 

NOTE: No class on Monday January 25-Wednesday January 27 including 12/21-12/1, 2/15-2/19, and 3/8.

Tech week is Monday March 22 - Wednesday March 24 from 5:30pm-8:00pm located at Campbell Heritage Theater in Campbell, Ca.

Move in Day is Monday, March 22 TIME is TBD and Strike Day is Saturday March 27 from 5:30pm-8:00pm

Drama performances are schedule on Thursday March 25 at 7:00 pm, Friday March 26 at 7:00 pm, Saturday March 27 at 5:00 pm located at Campbell Heritage Theater in Campbell, Ca.  (The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.) *offsite venues for drama shows are not guaranteed*

Outside concession sales or the sale of any other items will not be permitted during the upcoming performances. The Campbell Heritage Theatre (CHT) will be providing all concessions for the event. We kindly ask that all participants and vendors respect this arrangement. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

COST: $425.00 All registration fees are non-refundable once auditions have concluded and the cast list has been posted, prior to the start of rehearsals — no exceptions. 75% Scholarships are available to Homeless or Foster Youth and a letter approval of Free/Reduced lunch status from the Child Nutrition Dept.  Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 1) Be sure to create an ARUX account online and 2) email us at cusdexpandedlearning@campbellusd.org to request the discount. Discounted price is: $106.25. You can also set up a payment plan for the discounted price.

The Friends of the Campbell Heritage Theatre has established a scholarship fund to help students with drama program registration fees. More information on the scholarship application process will be available soon. Please note:

• Families must complete the online registration and pay the registration fee in full at the time of enrollment to reserve their student's spot.
• Students may then apply for a scholarship by completing the scholarship application once it becomes available online.

Space is limited to 24 students only (per Drama Directors capacity limitation) and online registration is based on first come, first served.  Last day to register online is 12/9.
