Marshall Lane Gr. 4-5 Drama: Madagascar KIDS

Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends — Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo — have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape — with the help of some prodigious penguins — to explore the world.

Students may only participate in drama program offered at the school in which they are currently enrolled.

Parent Meeting is TBD at 6:30pm-7:30pm located at Marshall Lane Elementary School Multi Use Room.

PLEASE NOTE:  A minimum of 16 parent volunteer hours is expected per family. We require at least 6–8 committed parent volunteers to successfully run the show. If we do not meet this minimum, the production may be canceled. 

Drama rehearsals are weekly on Mondays from 2:40pm-6:00pm and Wednesdays from 1:40pm-6pm starting Monday, December 7 -Wednesday, February 10 including selected Fridays TBD from 2:40pm-6:00pm.  Your students ability to attend scheduled rehearsals will be one of the factors in determining the role your child receives. If there are too many schedule conflicts, then your child will be asked to reconsider participating in the play. 

No class on 12/22-1/2, 1/19 and 2/15-2/19.

Costume Fitting at TBD at 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Dress Rehearsal at TBD at 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Starbright Theater Mandatory Safety Meeting on Monday, February 22 at 6:15pm-6:30pm.

Move in Day is Monday, February 22 at 12:30pm-2:00pm and Strike Day is Saturday, February 27 at 6:40pm.

Tech week is Monday, February 22 - Wednesday, February 24 from 6:15pm-8:30pm located at Starbright Theater in Campbell, Ca.

Drama performances are schedule on Thursday February 25 at 7:00 pm, Friday February 26 at 7:00 pm, Saturday February 27 at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm located at Starbright Theater in Campbell, Ca.  (The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.)  *offsite venues for drama shows are not guaranteed* There will be no concessions or other items sold at the performances. No outside vendors or representatives will be authorized to distribute or sell products on-site. We kindly ask that all participants and vendors respect this arrangement.

COST: $425.00 All registration fees are non-refundable once auditions have concluded and the cast list has been posted, prior to the start of rehearsals — no exceptions. 75% Scholarships are available to Homeless or Foster Youth and a letter approval of Free/Reduced lunch status from the Child Nutrition Dept.  Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 1) Be sure to create an ARUX account online and 2) email us at cusdexpandedlearning@campbellusd.org to request the discount. Discounted price is: $106.25. You can also set up a payment plan for the discounted price.

Space is limited to 30 students only (per Drama Directors capacity limitation) and online registration is based on first come, first served. 

Registration Deadline: The last day to register online is Wednesday, November 18, or until the program reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
