CSI Gr. 3-5 Drama: Madagascar KIDS

CSI students grades 3rd-5th. Students may only participate in drama program offered at the school in which they are currently enrolled.

Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends — Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo — have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape — with the help of some prodigious penguins — to explore the world.  mtishows.com/madagascar-kids

Auditions on Wednesday, September 2 at 1:40 pm-5:00 pm, and Friday, September 4 at 2:40 pm-5:00 pm located in the CSI Bistro. (Coming soon Actor's Script)  Student Access - Music (Vocals and Accompaniment) and Audition Sides.

Parent Meeting on Friday, September 11 from 6:00-7:00pm located in the CSI Bistro. PLEASE NOTE:  A minimum of 16 parent volunteer hours is expected per family. We require at least 6–8 committed parent volunteers to successfully run the show. If we do not meet this minimum, the production may be canceled. Parent Resources link here. 

Drama rehearsals are weekly on Mondays and selected Fridays 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, *10/9, 10/16, 10/30 at 2:40-5:00 pm and rehearsals on Wednesdays from 1:40-5:00 pm starting Wednesday, September 9 from 1:40pm-5:00pm - Friday, October 30 from 2:40pm-5:00pm located in the CSI Bistro. 

(Note: class on Wednesday 10/14 is at 1:40pm-3:30pm, class on Friday, *10/9 is at 1:40 pm-5:00pm, class on Friday 10/30 will be relocated D-Studio).  Your students ability to attend scheduled rehearsals will be one of the factors in determining the role your child receives. If there are too many schedule conflicts, then your child will be asked to reconsider participating in the play. 

No School on Monday, September 7 and Monday, October 12.

Parent Teacher Conference drama rehearsals on Monday 10/5 at 1:40 p.m.-6:00 p.m., on Wednesday 10/7 at 1:40pm-5:00pm, and Friday, 10/9 at 1:40pm-5:00pm located in the CSI Bistro.

• Costume Fittings on Wednesday, October 14 at 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
• Proposed Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, October 28 at 1:40pm-7:00pm. (Pending availability and commitment from Greenroom & Costume Volunteers)
  
  Mandatory Starbright Safety Meeting on Monday, November 2 at 6:15pm-6:30pm.  Move in Day is Monday, November 2 at 12:30pm-2:00pm and Strike Day is Saturday, November 7 from 6:30pm-8pm.

Tech week is Monday, November 2 - Wednesday, November 4 from 6:15pm-8:45pm located at Starbright Theater in Campbell, Ca.

Drama performances are schedule on Thursday, November 5 at 7:00 pm, Friday, November 6 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm located at Starbright Theater in Campbell, Ca. (The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.)  *offsite venue for drama shows are not guaranteed*

There are no outside concession sales or the sale of any other items will not be permitted during the upcoming performances. No outside vendors or representatives will be authorized to distribute or sell products on-site. We kindly ask that all participants and vendors respect this arrangement.

COST: $425.00 All registration fees are non-refundable once auditions have concluded and the cast list has been posted, prior to the start of rehearsals — no exceptions. 75% Scholarships are available to Homeless or Foster Youth and a letter approval of Free/Reduced lunch status from the Child Nutrition Dept.  Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 1) Be sure to create an ARUX account online and 2) email us at cusdexpandedlearning@campbellusd.org to request the discount. Discounted price is: $106.25. You can also set up a payment plan for the discounted price.

Space is limited to 30 students only (per Drama Directors capacity limitation) and online registration is based on first come, first served. 

Registration Deadline: The last day to register online is Wednesday, August 26, or until the program reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
